Yes Pleases of the Week

“Sugar, Yes Please.”

My favorite time of the week is here, it is my Yes Pleases of the Week. I love being able to share with y’all my current obsessions . My hope with this weekly series is for us each to inspire one another. Here is to another week of Yes Pleases, fun and inspiration !

Yes Please #1 : Fun Hair Accessories

When I am not wearing a hat (sun or Cubs), I am wearing fun hair accessories like my Perky Pony or my floral hair clips by The Vintage Cosmetic Company. They both along with others add that extra flair for a girls day out, a night out or a fun adventure, Yes Please to all of that !

Yes Please #2: Huckleberry Everything

So I was introduced to Huckleberry when I went to Montana for my friend’s wedding four years ago. I had never heard of this fruit before primarily because it comes from Montana and surrounding areas. I tried it for the first time in the form of a shake in Plains, MT and I fell in love. I say Yes Please to it all from jam to coffee to ice cream from Sweet Peaks and everything else Huckleberry. If you come across it, I say try it and let me know what you think ๐Ÿ™‚ (If you are in the San Diego area, Old Town has some ๐Ÿ™‚ )

Yes Please #3: Montana Coffee Traders

I recently went to Kalispell, Montana to visit a friend and then we road tripped it back. When I arrived in Kalispell, we stopped at Montana Coffee Traders . Let me tell you, smelled amazing , looked so cute and was delicious. My iced tea and sandwich were fantastic. Next time I am in Kalispell I will definitely be stopping there. An added bonus: being able to buy some goodies for my fan, always a Yes Please !

Yes Please #4: Odd Mom Out on Bravo (premiered on Wednesday, July 12th)

Odd Mom Out had me hooked from their season 1 trailer last year. With Season 2 now in week 2, I am still hooked and it seems to get better and better. I can’t wait to figure out what my favorite episode will be from this new season. It covers real topics, but in a way that is a great escape filled with laughs. Odd Mom Out, Yes Please.

Yes Please #5: All Things Live Love Gameday

I came in contact with Live Love Gameday when I was working on a sports and fashion piece last year. I fell in love with this brand immediately, which includes Burleyson and Blaine along with LLG. I became obsessed not just because it is made in the US via Dallas & run by a fabulous girl boss, Sydney McArthur, but because it is a combo of my two loves: sports and fashion. I continue to rock their pieces on the daily especially when supporting my Chicago Cubs. LLG will always get my Yes Please stamp of approval.

This week’s Yes Pleases were so exciting to compile together. Thanks for being patient after I was off for a bit ๐Ÿ™‚ Stay tuned for next week’s Yes Pleases !

Yes Pleases of the Week

“Obsession is beautiful. It’s what makes art.” ~Joss Whedon

It is that time of the week again, the Yes Pleases are here. I had so much fun compiling this week’s list. Hope y’all enjoy and that it inspires your week.

Yes Please #1: Fireworks Show

Fireworks have always been one of my favorite things about the 4th of July. This 4th of July, I was blessed to see 5 shows at once and 2 on the way home. I had so much fun watching with my parents. Fireworks will always be a big yes please ! I look forward to the next 4th of July show or hey may be seeing them even sooner at a baseball game ๐Ÿ™‚

Yes Please #2: Laura Mercier Almond Coconut Hand Creme

I was just introduced to this creme by Laura Mercier recently in a goodie bag I won (Thanks to Sydne Summer) and I cannot leave home without it. It keeps my hands continuously smooth and hydrated all while smelling like a hint of almond and coconut, which is always a plus.

Yes Please #3: T&J Designs Sunnies

T&J Designs is based in Chicago and I love everything they have. It is definitely hard to resist buying everything. Currently, I am all about the reflective sunnies I got from them. They protect, are super fun & stylish and go with everything. I will for sure be rocking them all summer long and beyond.

Yes Please #4: 47 Brand Chicago Cubs Hat

This hat from 47 Brand that I picked up from Wrigleyville Sports has become an every day staple ever since. It represents my style and love for my Chicago Cubs, which I will continue rocking in my wardrobe because of these to factors ๐Ÿ™‚

Yes Please #5: Skin Owl Eye Creme

I came across Skin Owlย at an event I recently attended. I was so excited when I got a Skin Owl product in my goodie bag. It was their eye concentrate (cream) and I love the feel and moisture it gives under my eyes. It is smooth, which is perfect for applying my makeup on top. It is a natural product and the scent is subtle, which are 2 things I look for in skincare products these days. Skin Owl is a big Yes Please !

Three Day Rule’s Night of Beauty at Viceroy Santa Monica

“Glamour is a state of mind.”

IMG_9156

A little bit about Three Day Rule, who invited me to the fantastic ‘Night of Beauty’ event, they got started around 10 years ago and are now in 8 different cities. Three Day Rule’s goal is to create a much, more enjoyable, stress free dating experience. I look at TDR as a traditional yet modern way of dating without an app, which I love.

It is more of a personal way of dating in that the matchmakers go on the first dates asking all the uncomfortable questions for their clients. To me it is like your friend is weeding out the ones that are not right for you. Another fun aspect of TDR is that if you meet a matchmaker you can also become a match, which means if they have a client that they think you should meet they will make the setup for you ๐Ÿ™‚ Simply love this idea ! Go check out, Three Day Rule !

vsm-night-event-1280x720

Now back to TDR’s 10th Annual Night of Beauty Event on June 12th. This beautiful event was hosted at the spectacular Viceroy Santa Monica (definitely having a staycation here). It was the perfect evening for an amazing event. Three Day Rule, Gilt City and Match teamed up for this annual event. Night of Beauty consisted of complimentary beauty, hair, nail touch-ups, pampering and tons of shopping with beGlammed (who did my makeup), Nail Garden (added the beautiful glitter to my mani), Cristophe Salon (William gave me my sexy beach waves), Toms (got my new shades, obsessed and for a great cause), Sprinkles Cupcakes (of course I had a cupcake & a cookie), Kendra Scott, Soul Cycle, Trunk Club, Club Pilates (excited to try), SUJA Juice (obsessed), Mai Couture (picked up amazing blush blot sheets), Skin Owl and many more amazing brands were present.

I not only got to enjoy a glamorous event while getting pampered (one of my favorite things), I also met a lot of amazing new people, which included Alisa, a matchmaker at TDR. Alisa went even more in depth about TDR and was kind enough to be my photographer for the evening.

IMG_8246

After this beautiful event by the Viceroy Santa Monica pool, there was a singles mixer event at the bar. I sadly couldn’t’ stay, but I am positive that was a fun, successful mixer. I truly had an amazing time at TDR’s 10th Annual Night of Beauty Event and can’t wait for next year’s.

If you ever have a chance to attend a Three Day Rule event, I highly recommend it. Even if you aren’t single, they are perfect events to go with friends and meet new people.

If you are single and looking for a match, hit up Alisa at Three Day Rule. I ended up meeting with Alisa a week after the event for coffee and so excited to see who she matches me with !

Thank you again for inviting me!

Yes Pleases of the Week

“When passion meets inspiration, an obsession is born.”

The Yes Pleases of this week are here, yay ! There are an aray of things I am all about for this week. Let’s go and have some fun with these!

Yes Please #1: Despicable Me 3 out Today, June 30th

IMG_8835

To put it mildly, I am obsessed with Despicable Me and all things Minions. The moment I saw the trailer for Despicable Me 3, I jumped/screamed with joy. It is a franchise that makes me laugh and smile everytime. I will always be hooked and definitely going to be seeing Despicable Me 3 !

Yes Please #2: Glamour Magazine

I have been subscribing to Glamour since I was 17. I don’t remember a time where I wasn’t reading Glamour, I just fell in love with it because of the fashion, inspiring stories, lifestyle pics and Glamour represents supporting one another. Definitely go check out Glamour Magazine because it has something for everyone.

Yes Please #3: Kate Spade Notebook

I was in need of a new notebook for writing and I immediately gravitated to this one by Kate Spade at Paper Source. I love the quote on the front and the feel of the paper when I put my pen to it. I am always inspired everytime I open it.

Yes Please #4: Sun Hats

Sun Hats are perfect for summertime. Not only do they help protect from the sun, but can go with any outfit. They are one of my favorite summertime accessories. I have definitely accumulated a lot over the years. One of my favorite’s right now is my ‘Just Chillin’ tan sun hat from Sidecca and embroidered sun hats are very on trend for summer, which I love.

Here are a couple fun sun hats for y’all to shop ๐Ÿ™‚

Merona Mint Stripe and Tan Floppy Hat , August Hats Watermelon Floppy Hat

Yes Please #5: MLB x Vans Collection

There was no question when I saw this collection between MLB and Vans, I had to buy my team sneakers ! They are comfy, cute and can be worn with so many different outfits (always a plus). I love that every team is represented, whcih means that we all can support our teams ๐Ÿ™‚ Be sure to check out your team and represent at Vans.

I had so much fun compiling this week’s Yes Pleases, stay tuned for next week !

Fireworks, Fashion and Music: All Things 4th of July

“Land That I Love, Stand Beside Her, And Guide Her, Through The Night With The Light From Above.” ~God Bless America

low-angle-view-of-firework-display-over-river-during-sunset-604213021-57752e7b3df78cb62c11aba4

4th of July is all about celebrating our freedoms with family and friends. This is one of my favorite holidays. The reason for that is it is a day that makes me really go all out to celebrate the freedoms I am so grateful for and to celebrate with those I love makes it even more special.

So in honor of 4th of July, here are some of my all time essentials. In terms of skincare I always like give myself a hydrating, relaxing facial due to the fact that I will be out in the sun. It helps keep my skin hydrating and stress free. Before hand make sure your skin is nice and clean (I use Garnier’s Miscellar Water). This go around I used a new mask by Avatara Chill Out Face Mask from Target. It dripped a little bit when I first put it on, but overall I will be using it again and to make it extra relaxing, you can put it in the fridge (defintely works). Next comes moisture and SPF application for that much needed hydration and sun protection. Lately I have been using Yes To Grapefruit Even Skin Moisturizer, ELF Cosmetics Illuminating Eye Cream and Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch SPF 55 Sunscreen. Also for all over sun protection, I like to use Honest Company’s Sunscreen Spray (make sure to shake before application).

Let me tell you, I love them all so far and they don’t seem to be upsetting my sensitive skin, which is always a good thing. I am extra dilligent with this routine come 4th of July celebrations since it’s all about the sunshine. Also, water is the final key for hydrating on a sunshine filled day like July 4th. I usually am drinking from my Bando water bottle or SmartWater‘s sparkling water if I am craving some carbonation.

Now on to one of my favorite parts: attire and beauty. I have a tradition every 4th of July to pick up a fun new outfit and this year was no different. I went with camo and khaki from Target, which I am excited to rock on the day (stay tuned). I rock other favorite Patriotic ensembles leading up to Independence Day, here are a few options I have:

For makeup I usually add a pop of a red lip, sparkle and if feeling daring, I pop on some blue eyeshadow like this one MAC Cosmetics has to offer. My nails have always been such a fun way to try out new holiday designs. It is is either navy with sparkle, Chicago Cubs theme or like this year it is a fun twist with a set from imPress. This is another reason I love the 4th as well, it brings out my creative side.

Another must is busting out the decorations. I am loving these ones I got from Michael’s and Party City last year.

IMG_8728

If y’all are feeling crafty this year, check out these fun DIY decorations on Pinterest!

You can’t have all this fablousness without some fun activities to celebrate. There are so many fun options to celebrate from Disneyland, water sports, BBQ backyard games, the beach and of course checking out fireworks. This year I will be all about the beach by laying out with my cute sunnies and sun hat while eating great food. Some awesome options are corn on the cob to hot dogs to delicious cocktails, so be sure to check out Pinterest for some of these awesome recipes and others ! If you are in the mood for eating out, check out the local cities’ website for help navigating the great restaurants they have to offer. I will definitely be ending the celebration with an awesome fireworks show or two ๐Ÿ™‚ I love them and they make me smile!

Del-Mar-Surfing-750x400

Everything is in order except for one thing, the soundtrack for this year’s Independence Day extravaganza. There are so many to choose from, how do I choose ? I am picking the ones that get me smiling and dancing all around. Lets kick it off with some classics first, God Bless America and The National Anthem followed by Zac Brown Band’s ‘Chicken Fried’ and ‘Castaway’. I will definitely have to bust out ‘Can’t Stop The Feeling’ by JT as well as ‘Happy’ by Pharell. Last but not least ‘Uptown Funk’ by Bruno Mars because everyone likes some funk music to get the party started.

IndependenceDay.png

I saved the best for last, thanking all those that have given myself and everyone the freedom to be who we want to be, thank you from the bottom of my heart! Wishing y’all a safe and Happy 4th of July !

~Kerry of KLM Fashion Style

P.S. How do y’all like to celebrate the 4th of July ? I am all about the beach and sunshine ๐Ÿ™‚

Yes Pleases of the Week

“They call it obssession, but I prefer the word love.”

Every week I seem to find new things that I just love, peak my interest, obsessed with, have to have or all of the above. I love finding out about new products, restaurants and more, which is why I am always saying, “Yes Please.” This is where my Yes Please series came to be awhile ago and I am officially relaunching it this week, yay ! I will continue to be sharing with y’all my Yes Pleases each week. I hope y’all enjoy and let’s kick this first one off ๐Ÿ™‚ !

Yes Please #1: Tejava Iced Tea

It is a tea I have been obsessed with for awhile. It is refreshing, delicious as well as all 100% all natural, micro brewed and ready to drink iced tea. Hope y’all love it like I do ๐Ÿ™‚ Tejava Iced Tea can be found at Target, Whole Foods Market and many of your local spots.

Yes Please #2: Anthony Rizzo in the Leadoff Spot

Ever since Anthony Rizzo of the Chicago Cubsย got moved to the leadoff spot he has killed it. He is in a 12 game hitting streak(as I type that just changed to a 13 game hitting streak with a homer) that includes his first inning production has been spectacular. Anthony has 2 homers, a walk, a single and a double, which tells me he has staying power at leadoff. Go Cubs Go !

*Stats are from Chicago Sun-Times

Yes Please #3: Formula 10.0.6 Skin-Clarifying Mud Mask

I just found out about Formula 10.0.6 recently. Let me tell you I am obsessed with this mask and can’t wait to try their other amazing products. A handful of the reasons why are because it smells great, easily accesible at Target or Ulta, affordable and most importantly it doesn’t irritate my extremely sensitive skin. Be sure to check this mask out and let me know what y’all think.

img_8408-e1498003159526.jpg

Yes Please #4: Sinful Colors Nail Polish

Sinful Colors has an array of options for nail polish, if I had the space I would definitely have them all. They are so fun, fabulous and fit with any ensemble or occasion. I have noticed too my Sinful Colors manis and pedis always lasts a long time (don’t forget a top coat every other day, helps it last longer).

Yes Please #5: Iced Green Matcha like this one from Lavender & Honey Espresso Bar

An Iced Green Matcha not only creates a great Instagram moment, but it is refreshingly delicious especially in this summer heat and if y’all are into green tea like I am ๐Ÿ™‚ If you aren’t into green tea, I suggest tasting a friends before ordering your own. It as a slight bitter taste, but doesn’t have as intense of one like regular green tea, but the whole milk helps to add some sweetness (not too sweet). A plus when ordering an Iced Green Matcha is that matcha is great to get some of your favorite antioxidants. Let me know what are some of your iced drinks ๐Ÿ™‚

These are my Yes Pleases for this week, stay tuned for next week’s Yes Pleases !

~Kerry of KLM Fashion Style

P.S. What are some of your favorite Yes Pleases for the week? Send in your faves and I will be sure to try and include in future posts ๐Ÿ™‚

Popping Champagne at Calabasas Malibu Food & Wine Festival

โ€œToo much of anything is bad, but too much champagne is just right.โ€ ~ Mark Twain

Carousel_600px

These days great company, champagne and a beautiful setting make for an amazing day and event. The Champagne Brunch for the Calabasas Malibu Food & Wine Festival on June 11th had all of these components. It was truly a beautiful event with great food from Toscanova out on the beautiful patio, live music from Tara Macri and great conversations with great company that included chefs from the previous 2 evening of the festival. I wish I could have made the first two nights because everyone was talking about how truly fantastic they were.

I always love it when I can leave an event with a huge smile on my face from enjoyment and I left with a big one from this one. I made lifelong friends from this one and have from all of Barcelona Enterprises past events as well. Barcelona Enterprises, who put the 3 day festival, put on a truly luxurious, classy event. I felt like I had known everyone for year and was welcomed with open arms. I will definitely be going again next year and will be bringing my family and friends. A champagne brunch is a perfect way to end a spectacular 3 day festival.

As Alan Semsar (CEO/Founder of Barcelona Enterprises) said, โ€œThe worldโ€™s top brands came together to support arts and education that included McLaren Beverly Hills, Capital One, Regent Seven Seas Cruises and Samuel Adams. They are all model corporate citizens who make a global & local impact. Cheers to them.โ€ This shows how Alan and his team not only put on spectacular events on a continuous basis, but continuously put great causes at the forefront as to why they do what they do. They also align themselves with brands that put this as a priority as well, Cheers to you all !

Here is to another amazing year at the Calabasas Malibu Food & Wine Festival ! I highly recommend checking out Barcelona Enterpriseโ€™s next event.

Thank you again for allowing me to attend and be a part of an amazing day!

~Kerry of KLM Fashion Style

P.S. Anytime sports comes into a conversation, you now I am smiling. This was an added bonus to an already spectacular event. What do you all look for to make an event great?
